raindogs
Okay, Rain Dogs fans! (And if you don't care about Rain Dogs, probably ought to unfollow me or whatever. That's gonna be my thing for the foreseeable future.)

So I've said that I'm converting the story into original fic, and I mean it. I'm doing some serious changing and shifting and rewriting and making it really new, not just the 50 Shades find-and-replace kind of 'originality'. (I know, making fun of 50 Shades is passe, sorry.) Anyway, I want some opinions and ideas on the changes I'm making, which is why I wanted you guys around to talk to about it. And here is the huge major basic in-your-face change that'll either disgust or intrigue you the most:

I'm aging them down and turning it into a YA/New Adult fic. By which I mean Len's character is going to be on the edge of nineteen, and most of the other mains are in their twenties. That will involve compressing and changing his backstory quite a bit, but considering that even the unfinished chapters are too long for a finished book, that's a good thing.

Also, Len's most likely going to become female.

SO THERE. The very basic and huge differences. What do you think? Yay, nay? Gonna run screaming?

Hi, strangers! Long time no talk.

So if anyone still follows me (and more people do than I expected, hi guys!) and remembers that vampire/werewolf AU called Rain Dogs, you might have noticed that I took it down a while back. I was trying to finish it in the new fandom I was in, but instead I've actually taken any versions down and am finishing up turning it into an original novel that I'm hoping to publish.

SO! If anyone's interested and wants to hear news or updates about it...let me know. :) I don't know if anyone will be all that curious now that it's not fandom, but if so just shout.

Last night I posted chapter three of an NCIS WIP that is taking me a ridiculous amount of time to write. It's here if anyone's curious.

I checked my email this morning thinking no one liked it, but turns out ff.net is just not emailing me notifications. And people did like it after all!

Yay!

So! Now I'm working on three things all at the same time - this NCIS story, Rain Dogs, and a fic I'm trying to finish before posting, a gift for an auction winner. (Haven't forgotten about you, random00b, but you said I could take my time and I really want to be able to post the whole thing all at once.)

Feels good to catch up on some of the stories I've left hanging, though. I wanted to put my name in for the help-Japan auction, but it's either I keep volunteering for new stuff or I buckle down and finish the old ones, and I really really want to finish Rain Dogs. (Also, I was going back over my story notes about The Uncertainty Principle, the dusty unfinished sequel to The Gap Between and Causality, and man. I should write the hell out of that.)

I wish I had more hours in a day.

For the record? When I asked for ideas on where to take Grischa and people said 'mpreg' or 'adopt' or generally anything to do with kids, my instinct was that I hate kids on a personal level and usually dislike their precocious asses in fic form.

And then frigging Bones came on (which I never watch), and there was frigging Cupcake as a dad with a dead daughter. He was on for like a minute and a half, but there was this snapshot of him with dead!kid, and him talking about how he wants his little girl back, and come ON.

I gotta get me a screen shot of that and post it here. I know most of you don't share my adoration of the guy who plays Cupcake in the movie, but I'm gonna squee anyway and ya'll are just gonna have to deal. (You're lucky as it is that I don't barrage you with clips from Playmakers, or any of his other roles. I mean look at that icon!)

ETA: See? This isn't fair.Collapse )

Fic - My Last Faith 9/9

bedtime
Title: My Last Faith
Author: Gloria
Series: Grischa
Pairing: Cupcake/Chekov (background Kirk/McCoy)
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: Slash, h/c, angst, fluff

Summary: Greg's made his plans, asked advice, bought a ring, and almost overcome his nerves. The only thing standing in his way now is an entire planet, a feral humanoid species of aliens, and a strange atmosphere that renders the Enterprise useless.

(Non-trek related, feel free to ignore.)

Dear Writers and Directors and Producers working behind the scenes at NCIS:

Please stop giving McGee potential relationships instead of plotlines and character development.

Thank you.

Because frustration begs me to continue, I will under the cut.Collapse )

Okay. Sorry. I feel better now.

future
Okay, friends-page people. I'm putting a question out that I'd like some opinions on. If anyone has a minute. :-) I'm screening comments, so if anyone takes time to answer this let me know if you want to stay screened or not. It's nothing dirty or anything (unfortunately), just sometimes I know people like to keep their online personas and their real-life views on certain things seperate.

Cut for a commonly asked hypothetical question about religious issues that is, believe it or not, story research for a new thingCollapse )
